The certification places Lifetime Health’s urgent care facilities among only a select few in the country to have met all of the UCAOA’s nationally-standardized criteria. Lifetime Health earned certification for its Amherst, Mosher and West Seneca Health Center locations in the Buffalo area, as well as the Folsom, Greece and Wilson Health Center locations in the Rochester area. Urgent Care by Lifetime Health is the longest standing urgent care provider in the Buffalo and Rochester regions, serving patients in urgent care settings in Buffalo for nearly 30 years and in Rochester for more than 20 years. UCAOA publicly noted Lifetime Health’s Certified Urgent Care (CUC) designation in the January issue of Journal of Urgent Care Medicine. To be awarded the CUC designation, Urgent Care centers must meet strict criteria, including accepting walk-in patients of all ages for a wide variety of illness, injury and disease during all hours of operation; maintaining minimum hours of operation seven days a week; having a licensed physician as medical director responsible for overall quality; and performing ethically. UCAOA’s certification indicates Urgent Care by Lifetime Health has an operating model consistent with consumer expectations for urgent care. Consumers recognize that urgent care centers are unique facilities that play an important role in the health care system. However, there is a wide variation in the operating model of the country’s more than 8,000 centers, making it difficult for consumers to identify which centers are best positioned to meet their urgent care needs. The Urgent Care Association of America established the CUC to identify urgent care facilities whose operating model is consistent with standard expectations for urgent care. Board-certified internal, family and pediatric medicine physicians as well as experienced physician assistants and nurse practitioners staff Urgent Care by Lifetime Health. Providers are equipped to administer X-ray services, rapid strep tests, EKG, IV fluids, routine blood work and more. Prescription drugs orders can be written and filled onsite at many Urgent Care by Lifetime Health locations. Urgent Care by Lifetime Health is offered at Lifetime Health’s locations in the Buffalo area: Amherst Health Center (1185 Sweet Home Rd); Hamburg Health Center (151 Elmview Ave.); Mosher Health Center (899 Main St.); and West Seneca Health Center (120 Gardenville Pkwy West), as well as in the Rochester area at the Folsom Health Center (1850 Brighton-Henrietta Town-Line Rd); Greece Health Center (470 Long Pond Rd); and Wilson Health Center (800 Carter St). Patients may walk in or call ahead for a same day appointment. Buffalo patients can call 716-656-4040 for same day appointments, and Rochester should call 585-388-1200. All major insurances are accepted and the cost is generally less than that for an emergency room visit. Individuals do not need to be a primary care patient of Lifetime Health to use Urgent Care by Lifetime Health and a report of the visit is forwarded to the patient’s doctor within 48 hours. Payment is due at time of service, and discounts may be available for individuals without insurance. ### |
