Lifetime Health Welcomes Dr. Kiriakidi

NEWS RELEASE — September 15, 2011

ROCHESTER, NY — Board-certified family medicine practitioner Kira Kiriakidi, M.D., has joined Lifetime Health Medical Group’s family medicine practice and will begin accepting new patients at the Greece Health Center, 470 Long Pond Road, as of September 12.

Kiriakidi earned her medical degree from State Russian Medical University, Moscow, Russia.  She completed her residency at Wyoming Valley Family Medicine, Kingston, Penn., where she provided care on an inpatient and outpatient basis to patients of all ages. Her efforts emphasized total health care for each family member, with a focus on healthy lifestyles and preventive care. During her residency, Kiriakidi conducted research on the prevalence of undiagnosed depression in the geriatric population.

She completed an internship in otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat) in Lipetsk, Russia, focusing on the medical and surgical management and treatment of diseases and disorders of the ears, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck. Kiriakidi then served as an otolaryngologist at the Lipetsk Regional Hospital, managing the care of patients with common and complicated ENT pathology in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association, Kiriakidi volunteered in the outpatient cancer unit of Rochester General Hospital and participated in a mission medical trip to Burkina Faso, in West Africa, this past winter.
