ROCHESTER, NY — Lifetime Health Medical Group has hired Rakhee R. Toraskar, M.D. who is board-certified in internal medicine. She began seeing patients at the Greece Health Center on November 19.

Toraskar earned a junior college degree in the sciences from the Chauhan Institute of Science, India, and a bachelor of medicine and surgery from Terna Medical College, India. She completed an internship in family practice at the Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Mich., and a residency in internal medicine with Unity Health System, Rochester. She was previously in private practice in Bombay, India.

She was a volunteer clinician in Little Rock, Ark., at the Salvation Army Center. There she cared for homeless patients at free clinics. In India, she was an active volunteer participant in both the Pulse Polio program, a nationwide campaign to eradicate polio, and a rural school health program.

Toraskar lives in Greece, N.Y.
